Our Alpine Cabin is open for you from 1 May to November 1 inclusive. Rest day Tuesday except in July, August, September, October and November.
The Bletterbach GEOPARK allows you to see inside the mountain, into the world of rocks. This canyon is the result of disintegration and erosion. From the ice age, about 15000 years ago, the river Bletterbach slowly cut a trail, 8km long and 400 metres deep during the various geological eras. Each stratum has come to light: ten billion tons of rock were eroded and carried down the Adige valley. The Bletterbach Canyon can be read like a book.
The Bletterbach is a Mecca for geologists from all over the world: 20 million years of geological history can be clearly seen. No other place in the southern Alps allows you to see sedimentary deposits from the Permian - Triassic periods.
