The 77 hectares of the golf course is also home to the Argentario Golf Resort & Spa, a luxury resort with 66 junior suites all of which have terraces overlooking the course, offer every type of luxury and state of the art technology.
The junior suites are situated on three levels and each of these is differently styled. The Club Junior Suites on level three represent the more glamorous side of the resort. Dark woods, centre of the room bathtubs in tabarca stone, chrome, warm colours and precious fabrics are a reflection of its international theme. The Tuscany Junior Suites on level two evoke a new country theme with a hint of northern European styling. The black furnishings are set against oak floors, and the anthracite wall panelling and a large tub in serena stone make this the hottest suite in the resort.
The Gallery Junior Suites on the first floor offer direct access the outside pool area and starting with its entrance hallway, designed as an exhibition space, it represents a new concept in modernity. White resin, optical contrasts, vintage furniture and contemporary photographs are the AGR&S’s response to what most people commonly view as a resort. It has 7 different types of suites offering a variety of approaches to hospitality. Every suite has a plasma TV, music and so much more. They also have large terraces that are designed as places to relax on or dine al alfresco.
The DAMA-DAMA is the restaurant where Fabrizio Santucci - the star of the Caminetto and the Casina Valadier in Rome - together with executive chef Emiliano Lombardelli, prepares both Tuscan and Italian specialities. The restaurant itself is an ironic yet modern interpretation of an elegant mountain refuge. The mock hunting trophies, the velvets and the natural fabrics make this place somewhat of a surprise within the resort. Dining is in comfortable rooms with a fireplace or by candlelight, ensconced in comfortable armchairs whilst enjoying the mountain scenery.
AGR&S has reviewed its concept of business and introduced areas furnished with natural materials, soft lighting and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s an informal way of providing its guests with the best services available. The resort’s business area has a cloakroom, services and common relaxation areas. It is also in a position to provide, on request, personal assistants for events as well as multilingual secretarial services.
The Espace wellness centre, a series of spaces dedicated to revitalizing the body, is located at garden level and is directly accessible from the golf course. Areas of white interrupted by shades of black and light woods create a new style suspended between retro and modern. Guests have the use of massage rooms, aromatic Turkish baths, thalassotherapy steam baths, biosaunas with chromotherapy, Finnish saunas, emotional showers, saline baths and Kneipp treatment, as well as the large panoramic indoor heated swimming pool, hydromassage tubs and cervical cascades. The outdoor pools with geysers and solarium zone overlook the eighteenth hole and the Polo club.
The 18 championship holes, designed and created by Davide Mezzacane and Baldovino Dassù, cover a total distance of 6218 metres. Subsequently shaped by Brian Jorgensen, this par 71 course is surprisingly varied, technically very challenging and undoubtedly spectacular. Almost all the greens are small and there is always a refreshing breeze that not only helps keep the temperature down but adds another dimension to play which, on this course, requires a combination of accuracy and power.
