When I entered the hall of Helvetia Hotel I was impressed by the brightness of the rooms and the delicacy of the colours used for the interior design. A feeling of harmony and peace, as well as the enormous kindness of the working staff made me feel comfortable instantly: that was the very first moment of my vacation completely dedicated to relaxation!
After checking in, I explored my room: it was furnished with warm colours and soft fabrics which made me feel that I was in a very welcoming atmosphere. The room had all types of amenities: a telephone with direct line, colour tv with satellite, mini-bar and a safe deposit box. The bathroom was very big and it had a huge mirror (so I had no difficulties with my make-up!) and hairdryer.
In the evening the dinner at the Hotel restaurant was waiting for me: the venue was very welcoming and the working staff was extremely efficient. Anyway, the real pleasure is expressed by the food: it’s a complete mesh of traditional and innovative flavours, prepared and displayed with the utmost knowledge by a "brigade", headed by a chef with international recognition. In the morning, a tasty buffet breakfast is prepared in order to make your day’s beginning more pleasant, or you can decide to have a lie-in and order the room service!
I discovered that every floor of Helvetia Hotel has its own thermal treatments and wellness department: how practical! I can leave my room wearing my bathrobe and go directly to the thermal wellness area!
The thermal water is the real treasure of Abano Terme.
The doctor who oversees the thermal department explained to me that this is a type of bromo-iodine-salt water which has unique virtues.
The thermal water arrives in Abano Terme after an extensive subterranean trip which begins at the Pre-Alps and ends at the Euganean basin where it streams at a blistering 87°! The thermal water is used for the thermal mud maturation process. Thanks to its exceptional virtues, the thermal mud has obtained an accredited European certificate to be used for medicinal purposes.
After being pampered by thermal and beauty treatments, I decided to immerse myself in relaxation by bathing in the warm thermal waters of the swimming pools. Helvetia Hotel has two big swimming pools linked together, one indoor and one outdoor placed in the garden. Both are equipped with various types of hydro- massages; among them cervical waterfalls, hydro-massage tables in thermal water, hydro-massage casks, and a Kneipp path. Moreover, the outdoor swimming pool is placed inside a relaxing, natural garden which surrounds the Hotel. Surrounded by a warm thermal embrace, I didn’t even feel the time passing! It’s true, time flies when you’re having fun!
