CAGLIARI CITY

Cagliari lies on the southern most part of the plain of Campidano on the Gulf of Cagliari. Apart from being the regional capital it is also provincial capital. It’s origins date back to the Middle Ages when the town stood on a hill, where some towers and ramparts can still be seen. From this hill the town slowly spread down towards the coast and the sailors quarter. After being a Carthaginian colony it had it’s heyday as a roman colony.
