Caltanissetta lies at 568 metres asl on a hill which, to the north, rises up to Mount San Giuliano. Among the places to visit are the Cathedral in Baroque style, as are the the church of S. Agagta dei Gesuiti and the church of San Domenico. The Palace of Moncada, built between 1635 and 1638, is from the same period and now houses the Law Courts.The church of Santa Maria degli Angeli with it’s beautiful Gothic door, is from the 1300s.
