Padova lies on a fertile plain at the foot of the beautiful Euganei hills, about 36 km from Venice. Many pilgrims from all over the world come here to the Basilica del Santo with it’s magnificent square. It is an imposing building in Gothic-Romanic style, constructed between the 12th and 14th centuries.
