PISA CITY

Even in the world‘s most remote reaches, there doesn‘t exist a person who hasn‘t heard or seen, if only just a photo of, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the bell-tower of the neighbouring Duomo. According to Vasari, the tower was begun in 1173 by Bonanno Pisano, and when around half complete, subsidence caused it to tilt. Thereafter Giovanni di Simone took over the reins of its construction and it was completed by Tommaso Pisano in the year 1372. This immortal leaning building is the treasure of the unmatched Piazza del Duomo, otherwise known as, and not by chance, as the Piazza dei Miracoli.
