ROVIGO CITY

Rovigo lies on a very fertile plain, once marshlands, between the river Po and the river Adige. It originates from Medieval times and some interesting buildings from the Renaissance period are the Cloisters of the Olivetani in San Bartolomeo, the Roncale Palace from the 16th century, the City Hall, the church of the Beata Vergine del Soccorso and the 15th century Rovella Palace. The cathedral is certainly worth a visit as are the Accademia dei Concordi which houses the Museum of the Risorgimento and the Accademia Concordi Art Gallery.
