Tempio Pausania is the Main Town, together with Olbia, of the province of Olbia Tempio in Sardinia. Located in the splendid Gallura, it is known for the extraction and processing of cork and granite. The typical buildings, of granite blocks are very similar to those which can be seen in the south of Corsica. A visit to the town can begin with the Cathedral and the Oratory of the Rosary, built in the 1400s and still with it's oroginal bell tower and doorway but rebuilt in the 17th century. The Cathedral was dedicated to Saint Peter and holds two beautifully carved altars. Just a few kilometers from the town, Mount Limbara offers a magnificent landscape, rich in lakes and springs.
