TERNI CITY

Terni has the two faces of an historic town of extremely old origins and of a productive centre that has guided the industrial development of Umbria between the 19th and 20th centuries. It was called the Italian "Manchester" and the "Grande Maglio" of its steel works became the symbol of the economic boom of the region. In the historic centre memories of the past flower in the traces of the old roads and in the monumental buildings. The modern town adjoins with its patrimony of industrial archaeology and 20th century architecture. The nearby waterfall of the Marmore is an imposing and daring work of hydraulic fantasy.
