The Lagoon of Grado is located in Friuli Venezia Giulia and stretches from Fossalon di Grado to the island of Anfora, at the mouth of the rivers Ausa and Corno. It covers an area of 90 sq km and a dam, on which the road connecting Grado with the mainland lies, divides it into two parts, east and west. The lagoon borders to the west with the Lagoon of Marano and the Venetian Litoranea, a waterway connecting Venice with the mouth of the Trieste and Isonzo rivers, crosses it in a north south direction.
