Lake Alviano lies on the border between Umbria and Lazio and was created in 1963 by the electricity board as an overflow for the artificial lake Corbara. Over the years it has become marshland which is perfect for aquatic wildlife and vegetation. It is now a wildlife reserve with various fascinating nature trails.
