Lake Comabbio is of glacial origin and lies in the province of Varese. Five boroughs overlook the lake: Ternate, Varano Borghi, Vergiate, Mercallo and Comabbio. The lake covers an area of 3.4 sq. km and has a maximum depth of 7.7 meters.
