Lake Massaciuccoli is located in the western part of Tuscany, in the plain between Viareggio and Pisa, at the foot of the Apuan Alps in the province of Lucca. Fishing and hunting are popular sports here and on the western side there is a lovely beach at Torre del Lago Puccini. An interesting place to visit nearby is the villa and chapel where Giacomo Puccini is buried.
