Lake Scanno is located in Abruzzo, in the high valley of the Sagittario river and was created by a landslide from Mount Genzana which blocked the river. The lake lies at an altitude of 930 meters and has a small coastline with small beaches almost devoid of sand. It lies down valley from the town of Scanno and is the largest lake in this region.
