The third largest lake in Lazio, Lake Vico is easily recognisable for it’s horse shoe shape caused by the rocky spur of Mount Venere. The lake has an exceptional ecosystem: the warmer south facing slopes are rich in Turkey oaks and durmast trees whereas the cooler slopes are ideal for beech trees. Interesting places to visit are the Palazzo Farnese di Caprarola and the medieval village of San Martino al Cimino.
