ALBURNI MOUNTAINS

Mount Alburno with it’s 1742 metres is the highest peak in the Alburni Mountains range which has the form of an enormous inclined block with asymmetric sides. The steep slopes overlooking the valleys of Sele and Tangaro are a sequence of gorges and imposing peaks similar to the Dolomite landscape. The Alburni massif is a Karstic terrain with many caves, grottos and potholes many of which are still unexplored.
