BERICI HILLS

The Berici Hills are a distinctive hill formation of the alluvial plain on which Vicenza lies and were formed on the bed of an ancient sea, over a space of time covering at least a hundred million years. The major peak in this group is Mount Berico. There are some lower hills belonging to the Berici group such as Altavilla Vicentina to the north, Monticello di Fara at Sarego to the west and the Montegalda hills to the south. The Barbarano Vicentino Monticello and the hills of Albettone and Lovertino to the south east are the continuation of the nearby Euganei Hills.
