The Carnia is a historical-geographic area of Friuli whose municipalities are administrated by the province of Udine, which belongs to the autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It lies in the Carnic Alps and borders to the north with Austria, to the south with the province of Pordenone, to the west with Veneto and to the east with Canal del Ferro-Valcanale, also in the province of Udine.
