CHIUSELLA VALLEY

The Valchiusella is 25 km long and covers an area of 143 sq km and is located in the province of Turin, actually in the Canavese. The Valchiusella begins among the woodland and pastures of the hills above Ivrea and reaches Traversella and from here it forms the typical V towards the Graie Alps between the lower Aosta Valley to the north east and the Valley of Orca and Val Soana to the south-west. Administratively the valley is under the Union of Mountain Communities of Val Chiusella, established in 1972 with the aim of protecting and promoting the economic situation of the valley.
