Ciociaria is the name of some areas of Lazio and south west of Rome, with no well defined boundries. The identification of the Ciociaria with the area of the province was made by the Tourist Board of the province of Frosinone. The Ciociaria holds many festivals featuring food, music and games as well as every type of traditional festival. Religious, folklore and farming traditions are still kept alive. Patron saint festivals with their processions, brass bands, singers, lights and fireworks, antique games and horse races, tournaments between the districts show the will of the people to preserve the authenticity of their farming culture in the costumes, music, rituals and gastronomy.
