The Cogne Valley, which is part of the Gran Paradiso National Park, is well known for cross country skiing, fascinating folklore and superb holiday facilities. From here there is a magnificent view of the Gran Paradiso Mountains to the south and Mont Blanc to the west but perhaps the most breathtaking is the sight of Punta Pousset. Not as high as the others but it’s form is spectacular, it rises like a knife blade with a steep drop on the northern side down to Cretaz.
