The Euganei Hills are of volcanic origin and rise, like an archipelago, out of the Padana-Veneto plain just a few kilometers south west of Padova. The Euganei Hills area was the first regional park to be founded in Veneto, in 1989. The highest point is mount Venda, easily recognisable by the TV repeater station that covers most of the surrounding area (provinces of Padova and Vicenza).
