The Valley of Fontanabuona is one of the main valleys in the district around Genoa. Famous as once being the family estate of the Fieschi dynasty and also for it‘s slate quarries, it is located in the eastern part of the province of Genoa, inland from the Bay of Tigullio. It spreads out near the promontory of Portofino with the main towns inland from Chiavari.
