GRAVEGLIA VALLEY

The Val Graveglia is a valley in the province of Genoa with the river of the same name flowing through it. Geographically it lies partially in the borough of Ne, created by the union of various villages dotted along the valley. The area is surrounded by various mountains among which Mount Zatta, located on the border between the provinces of Parma and La Spezia, and from whose slopes (at 950m) springs the river Graveglia that after flowing through the valley, enters into the river Entella in the area of Lavagna - Chiavari. The geographic location of the valley, closed in by the surrounding mountains and land of transition between different cultures in history, of which those of La Spezia and Parma, has meant that the territory has suffered a type of isolation and was traversed by autonomous local events. Just as the town which it is mainly constitutes - Ne - for which, in fact, there isn't one version of the valley's history, as the territory is made up of various villages, hamlets and localities, later joined together and incorporated under one municipal administration.
