The Iblei Mountains are a chain of hills in the south eastern part of Sicily, in the provinces of Ragusa, Siracusa and Catania. Mount Lauro is the highest with it‘s 986 meters. Various rivers spring from these mountains, such as Irminio (dividing the highplain in a north-south direction flowing between Modica and Ragusa), the Dirillo, Ippari, Tellaro, Anapo that flows into the sea near Siracusa and the river Cassibile.
