The Intelvi Valley lies in the mountains in the province of Como. near the border to Switzerland. It has the form of a "Y" upside down, where the lower parts originate from the Lario and Ceresio lakes and the upper part rises to it‘s highest altitude at Sighignola (1.302 m), in the borough of Lanzo d‘Intelvi, where there‘s even a customs post with the Swiss Confederation. From the foot of the valley to the top the distance is about 25 kilometers.
