The Lunigiana is a sun drenched area with a mild climate and beautiful scenery. Here you can go for wonderful walks through woods of chestnut, oak and pine trees where you’ll find mushrooms and wild fruits in abundance or wander through olive groves or beside clear mountain streams full of fish. During the winter months the highest peaks of the Apennines are covered in powdery snow, perfect for skiing. The western part slopes down almost to the beaches of the Versilia and the rocky coast of the Cinque Terre.
