MARMORE WATERFALL

 
The Marmore Waterfall has a controlled flow and is among the highest in Europe, falling for 165 meters, subdivided in three levels (the first and highest is 83 meters). The waterfall is used to produce a large amount of electricity in the Galleto Plant. In order to regulate the operation of the plant and permit the public to see it, the waterfall is put into action at maximum capacity at predetermined periods and times. Normally the waterfall operates for two hours a day with longer hours during holiday periods.
