ORCIA VALLEY

The Val d‘Orcia is a wide valley located in the province of Siena, in Tuscany, north east of Mount Amiata and near the border with Umbria. With the river Orcia flowing through the central area, the magnificent scenery together with various towns of medieval origin, two of which, Pienza and Montalcino are world famous, this area is definitely worth a visit. The valley is also home to an important natural, cultural and artistic park recognised as a World Heritage Site on 2nd July 2004 for the excellent preservation of it‘s panorama, that had a great influence on many Renaissance painters.
