The Toce river, whose source is at Riale di Formazza, flows through the Ossola Valley into Lake Maggiore. It is one of eight valleys lying side by side,the others being Anzasca, Antrona, Bognanco, Divedro, Antigorio-Formazza, Isorno and Vigezzo. The valley is a nature paradise with national parks, protected areas, well equipped winter sports resorts and villages where the old traditions and their history are still important.
