PUSTERIA VALLEY

The Pusteria Valley is 100 km in length, set in the eastern Alps, between Alto Adige (Italy) and East Tirol (Austria), in an east-west direction between Bressanone and Lienz. The Italian part is under the administration of the Pusteria Valley, instituted in 1969, with Brunico the county town and includes 26 boroughs. The Val Pusteria Railway and the SS49 trunk road of Pusteria run through this narrow valley as does the Pusteria cycle path, for the most part parallel to the Rienza river.
