The San Martino Valley is located in Lombardy and for administrative purposes is divided between the provinces of Lecco and Bergamo. The valley stretches north on the orographic left side of the river Adda that springs from the eastern branch of lake Como right next to Vercurago, at the entrance to the city of Lecco. After passing through the town of Pontida the valley spreads out onto the plain of Almenno, near to Ambivere and Prezzate (on the main Bergano-Lecco road).
