TUSCIA
Tuscia is the name given to southern Etruria after the end of the Etruscan rule. Originally Tuscia indicated a vast territory which various historical events separated into smaller areas. Today the Tuscia is still the land of the Etruscans as it preserves the flavours and the culture but there are a variety of offers both natural and cultural. The area coincides in great part to the province of Viterbo, traversed by the vai Francigena, an historic itinerary used by thousands of pilgims, it lies in northern part of Lazio with Tuscany to the north, the Tyrrhenian sea to the west, the metropolitan area of Rome to the south and to the east Umbria and the area known as the Sabina. Within it's confines there are seven interesting areas, each featuring a predominate element shared by the various municipalities to which they belong, permitting visitors to experience various types of holidays in one area.
