The Vigezzo Valley is located in Piedmont in the province of Verbania and stretches from west to east on a plateau at a height of 880 metres and has a mild climate. It is also known as the Artists Valley due to an artistic tradition among the inhabitants, many of their paintings are exhibited in the art gallery of Santa Maria Maggiore. A railway called “La Vigezzina” runs through the valley and it’s characteristic blue and white carriages give passengers a wonderful view of the lovely valleys of Vigezzo and Centovalli.
