The Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park was inaugurated in Pescasseroli on 9th September 1922 while the Park Authority was established on 25th November 1921 with a provisional executive board. It lies for the most part (about ¾) in the province of Aquila in Abruzzo and the remaining area in that of Frosinone in Lazio and Isernia in Molise. The park management is based in Pescasseroli (AQ).
