The Casentine Forest National Park comprises the area near Mount Falterona, along the Tuscan-Emilian divide of the Apennines. The Casentine Forests are the most beautiful woodlands of the northern Apennines with a territory alternating between mountain steams that form fascinating waterfalls and enchanting valleys, among which, on the Romagnolo side the Vales of Montone, Rabbi and Bidente while on the Tuscan side there is a small part of Mugello and the greater part of the Casentino including the upper vale of the Arno. Within the park there is also the Sasso Fratino Reserve.
