LITORALE ROMANO NATURE RESERVE
The Litorale Romano Nature Reserve is a state reserve founded by the Ministry of Environment and concerns natural environments, sites of historical and archaeological interest and agricultural areas of Rome and Fiumicino, from the Palidoro marina to the Capocotto beach. The management of the reserve is entrusted to the Municipalities of Rome and Fiumicino for the areas within their competence. There are many species of mammals and birds in the park. In 1998 the Italia Nostra, Litorale Romano Park project was approved as an environmental asset for the city. The Litorale Romano Reserve is protected by one of the four AIB Plans (Anti Forest Fires) of the State Nature Reserves referring to the Lazio Region.
