MOUNT GENZANO AND ALTO GIZIO REGIONAL NATURE RESERVE

 

The Mount Genzano and Alto Gizio Regional Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve of Abruzzo, founded in 1996. It comprises an area of about 3,160 acres, located in the territory of the borough of Pettorano sul Gizio, a province of Aquila within the Peligna Mountain Community and also comprises the historic town center. From Mount Genzana, rising to a height of 2170 m, there's a breathtaking view of the mountains in the Abruzzo National Park and the Majella. The park is set between the Abruzzo, Lazio, Molise National Park and the Majella National Park, here, apart from the camoscio d'abruzzo, it's possible to find all the fauna typical of the two national parks.
