MOUNT PEGLIA AN SELVA DI MEANA NATIONAL PARK

The Mount Peglia and Selva di Meana National Park stretches into the area of Orvieto in the province of Terni and partially in the province of Perugia. Within it‘s confones there are three nature areas, well preserved Medieval towns and sites that are particularly interesting for their scenery, fauna and paleontology. The protected areas are: the Selva di Meana, the largest, that became an inter-regional park of 6,000 hectares together with the nearby nature reserve of Mount Rufino in Lazio; Elmo Melonta in the Umbrian Valdichiana featuring wild countryside that is almost unaccessable; San Venanzo, the smallest, with it‘s 120 hectares, but featuring original volcanic areas with minerals and rocks, not to be found anywhere else in the world.
