The Nature Protection Oasis of the Valle Averto is located in the borough of Campagna Lupia in the province of Venice. The Valle dell‘Averto is in the so-called live lagoon whose salt waters, connected directly with the sea, are diluted by the river waters. The flora comprises reed thickets and beds of rushes in the sweet water and near the coast, where the water is salty, tamerisk woods. The area is ideal for numerous acquatic birds to winter here. Among the mammals, the otter can be admired in it‘s natural habitat.
