PO DELTA REGIONAL PARK - EMILIA ROMAGNA

The Po Delta Regional Park of Emilia Romagna, founded in 1988, is a protected area covering an area of about 18,000 hectares of the Emilia Romagna Region. It stretches from the Po di Goro, over the whole of the historic Po delta and includes the mouths of some other rivers such as: the Reno, Lamone, Fiumi Uniti and Bevano. The area of the Delta has been created by progressive silt deposits of the river Po. Over a long period this has caused the progressive change of position of the coast line on the Adriatic Sea.
