The Stagno di Cagliari Permanent Faunistic Oasis, located on the northern coast of the Bay of Cagliari, west of the provincial capital, comprises a large part of a marshland. The northern area of the lake is home to marsh reeds as well as numerous fish, mollusk, shell fish. In the last few years flamingos have returned to the area to nest.
