VAL GRANDE NATIONAL PARK

 
The Val Grande National Park is located in Piedmont in the Lepotine Pre-Alps and in the Val Grande. The main part of the park‘s territory is composed of mountain summits alternated by valleys of hardwood forests. There are also forests of elm, ash, maple and sometimes silver fir. Among the flowers you‘ll find wild orchids, edelweiss, rhododendrons and alpine tulips, while among the animals, a large presence of chamois in the higher areas and lower down, marmots, deer, kestrel, tawny owls, buzzards, golden eagles, weasels, badgers and martens.
