GARGANO

The Gargano is a mountainous promontory to the north of the Puglia joined to the mainland by the two lagoons of Lesina and Varano. Jutting out into the sea this promontory forms the Gulf of Manfredonia and reaches a height of 1055 metres at Mount Calvo. There is a panoramic road running right round the promontory which offers spectacular views. Many visitors spend their holidays here to enjoy the unspoilt nature but also to admire the many works of art and architecture of the picturesque towns.
