The Sorrento Peninsular that extends into the Tyrrhenian Sea is one of the main holiday destinations of the Campania region. The side facing the Bay of Naples forms the Sorrento Coast while the side facing the Bay of Salerno forms the Amalfi Coast. It lies between the Bay of Naples and the Bay of Salerno and falls within the provinces of Naples and Salerno. It's rich in areas famous for their historic and natural beauties. All the areas of the pensinsular have a very old and established tourist vocation and are world famous. The territory is crossed by the Latteri Mountain range that slopes down to the sea, ending at Punta Campanella. Apart from the beautiful scenery and nature, the Sorrento Peninsular also offers various gastronomic specialities such as mozzarella from Agerola, Provolone del Monaco cheese, pizza by the meter, pasta of Gragnano as well as fish specialities and Sorrento lemons or the Amalfi lemons used to prepare superb pasta dishes, the famous limoncello and limoncello babà.
