Stromboli has been famous since ancient times for it’s continuously active volcano. It is part of the Eolie group of islands and the southern part, known as Ginostra has the smallest port in the world, Porto Pertuso. The beaches are composed of black sand: Forgia Vecchia, Ficogrande are easy to reach whereas other bays can only be reached by boat such as le Piscinette with it’s blue-green waters.
