AGLIANICO OF VULTURE WINE TRAIL

The Aglianico of Vulture Wine Trail comprises the boroughs of Matera, Pietragalla, Acerenza, Venosa, Lavello, Melfi, Rapolla, Barile, Rionero del Volture, Atella and Potenza. Leaving Potenza the trail winds northwards to reach the DOC production area. Atella, another town on the trail, holds parts of the ancient town walls with towers and entrances in it‘s historic centre. Rionero in Volture is the main centre for the production of DOC wines and lies among the woodland on the volcano, between two hills covered in vinyards. Just a few kilometers away lies Barile, an town with ancient oenological traditions and surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The product under the tutelage of this wine trail is the Aglianico of Vulture DOC.
