The DOC Wines of Locorotondo and Martina Franca Trail comrpises the boroughs of Locorotondo and Martina Franca and among the participating authorities, the Consortium for the Tutelage of the Locorotondo DOC wines. Unlike other areas of Puglia here in the Vale of Itria the farmers live on their land. The trulli (traditional round houses) were the buildings most adapted to the poor, raw materials, provided in abundance by the land that had to be cleared of rocks. Cool in summer and warm in winter they were perfect for every type of weather. The products under the tutelage of this wine trail are Locorotondo DOC and Martina Franca DOC.
