The Medicean Wine Trail of Carmignano comprises the boroughs of Carmignano, Poggio a Caiano and Montemurlo and among the participating authorities are the Tourist Boards of Carmignano and Poggio a Caiano, the Chamber of Commerce of Prato. This wine trail lies in an area north of the river Arno not far from Florence but in the province of Prato. There are many DOCs in this area: Carmignano DOCG, Rosato di CarmignanoDOC and Vin Santo di Carmignano DOC also the variety made from red grapes, Occhio di pernice. The product under the tutelage of this denomination is Carmignano DOCG.
